What made you decide to open Tony Roni’s?
20+ years ago, I knew I wanted to make people happy with food. I watched my mom do it everyday in my house. I love seeing people happy and gathered around a good meal. I thought most of the pizza and sandwich shops in Philly weren’t good, and I wanted to open a great place where people could come for Great Food with Great Attitudes by our team.
Is your real name Tony Roni? If not, where did the name come from?
No it’s Altomare… Roni is short for Pepperoni. My first name is Tony though.
What are you passionate about?
Happiness, Family, Healthy, and creating opportunity for my company.
What do you think customers would find surprising about Tony Roni’s?
How hard we work on all the details and systems to make all of them happy. That our catering is second to none.
What’s your all-time favorite food?
I would have to say my tomato pie followed closely by a piece of sea bass.
What’s your favorite location in Italy?
All-time favorite place in Italy and the world is the Positano Coast.
